An unlit sign stops working at six in the evening. On a Nairobi high street, on Mombasa Road, in a mall corridor, that is exactly when the foot traffic peaks -- and an illuminated sign is the difference between being seen and being walked past.

We build three kinds of illuminated signage in our own workshop.

Face-lit letters push light straight out through an acrylic face. They are the brightest option and the one to choose when the sign has to be read from across a road. Halo-lit letters do the opposite -- the light washes the wall behind a solid stainless or aluminium face, so the lettering reads as a glowing outline. It is the quieter, more expensive look, and it is what you see on bank branches and corporate receptions. Illuminated fascias and light boxes carry a full printed graphic on a translucent face, lit evenly from behind, which suits menu boards, pharmacies and anything with a logo rather than plain lettering.

Every unit is built around branded LED modules rather than the cheapest strip on the market, because the callback cost of a failed module a year later is higher than the saving. We handle the power routing, the fixings and the wall make-good, and we install across Nairobi and up-country.
